What's Happening: Michelle Obama Wears Narciso Rodriguez

Yes, we realize that last night was a pretty historical evening for various political and social reasons. But, we're not a political or social blog. So, we'd like to really get to the root of last night's issues and talk about what Michelle Obama was wearing for Barack Obama's acceptance speech.

Initially, we were more than a little surprised by her choice. After all, that was A LOT of red and black and some odd criss crossing styles. However, it's growing on us. The dress, which is by Narciso Rodriguez (it's from his Spring 09 RTW collection, seen above), is certainly fashionable. And we can respect anyone who takes a chance with their wardrobe choices.

So, what do you think? Did the future first lady look stunning—and adorably matched to her two daughters? Or, should she stick to more simple styles in the future?

I thought the dress style was inappropriate for the occassion. Lovely dress. The colors on it made it seem too busy and cluttered. It was more like an elegant dinner dress. Simple would have been more pleasing to the eye. I notice no one bi tched about the cost of her clothes as opposed to the cost of Ms. Palins. Not that I voted for either of those parties.
