What's Happening: Charlotte Style Events

When it comes to style, today is a busy day in Charlotte. Here are just a few of the things going on. Take your pick, but be warned that some of them are sold out so call ahead to check on tickets.

Sex and the City star Kristin Davis is in Charlotte today talking about her new clothing line launching at Belk. The Junior Charity League is throwing a cocktail party (6:30) and fashion show (8:30) at the Blake hotel to show off the new line. Tickets are $30 and are available at Belk at SouthPark and on the Charity League's website.

Jeffre Scott Apothecary in Piper Glen is hosting a fall style event from 7 to 9 p.m. with experts in skin care, make-up, fashion and style all showing you how to be your most fabulous this season. Tickets are $35 and space is limited. Call 704-544-0750 for details.

Andie McDowell (check out this article in this week's Observer about the southern star) is speaking at the Dress for Success benefit, Look at Her Power, at the Charlotte merchandise mart from 6 to 9 p.m. Tickets are $40.

Charlotte Fashion Week is kicking off with former Project Runway contestant Carmen Webber and plenty of other local designers. Also at the Blake Hotel, this event goes from 6 to 9 p.m. Check out Fashion Week's website for tickets and don't forget to hit the after party at Nikko Japanese restaurant on South Boulevard.

Ok, so put on your favorite frock and some comfortable shoes because you've got lots of mingling to do tonight. See you there!
